The development and manufacturing of new drying ovens for granulated sugar allowed the continuous production process for confectionery.
The process consists in the already mixed dough containing sugar,
cocoa, starch and fat is introduced into an extruder and the mixture
disposed directly on the conveyor belt of Grantham´s tunnels. The products are dried by convective process with hot air.
With the new drying system, losses were reduced as to breakage during handling and product falls on the floor.
The product residence time in the drying decreased from stationary way of drying from 10 to less than 1 hour.
A cooling tunnel is attached to the drying tunnel and guarantees the cooling of the product at room temperature.
